YouTube to Yoto helps you add audio from a YouTube video to your Yoto Make Your Own playlist. The Chrome extension works with a local helper app so downloads, MP3 conversion, and Yoto authentication can happen on your own computer.
The local helper stores your Yoto refresh token on your computer and keeps local job history so upload progress can be shown if the popup is reopened. Downloaded audio files are processed locally on your computer.
The extension may contact https://yt2yoto.vfsappointment.com for public configuration, helper download information, optional feedback submission, and diagnostic events. If you submit feedback, we may store your feedback message, the related YouTube URL if present, extension/helper version, timestamp, and Yoto account details returned by Yoto such as email or display name.
Diagnostic events may include error messages, helper and extension versions, operating system/browser platform, helper mode, and whether local tools such as yt-dlp and ffmpeg were detected. Diagnostic events do not include Yoto tokens or downloaded media.
When you add a video to a playlist, the helper uploads the converted audio and selected icon to Yoto using your Yoto account authorization.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not run a shared cloud service to download or convert your YouTube videos.
You can delete local tokens and job history by removing the ~/.yt2yoto folder on your computer. To request deletion of feedback stored by the service, contact us at wanr.ding@gmail.com.
